Space Exploration the American Way – bomb ‘em first, ask questions later. NASA’s plans to bomb the moon cause major concerns as many unhappy with gun-slinger approach…
NASA To Bomb The Moon: Aliens Or Not
By Jon King
Are They Allowed To Do That?
NASA is planning later this year to bomb the moon in a attempt to discover whether sufficient amounts of water exist to sustain a planned moon base.
This, at least, is the official story. The story circuiting the conspiracy boards is they’re planning to bomb alien bases up there, while the question on everyone’s lips seems to be, aliens or not: are they allowed to do that?
The notion that mysterious structures photographed on the moon could be the remains of alien bases has long been debated, of course.
But now the debate does appear to have become rather more urgent as theorists fear NASA might even be engaging in some secret intergalactic warfare with aliens.
Others are simply concerned about the ethics involved in bombing the moon, or any other celestial body for that matter. After all, isn’t there some unwritten universal law that says we shouldn’t be doing this kind of thing?
And what is it in the American psyche that makes them think they can solve everything with a bomb anyway?
Or if not a bomb, exactly, then a fully fuelled up, 40-foot long 5000-pound Centaur rocket travelling at twice the speed of a bullet.
Because on this occasion, that’s the ‘bomb’ we’re talking about.
NASA To Bomb The Moon: Aliens Or Not
Bombing Visible From Earth
On or around October 8th the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) will launch a Centaur rocket programmed to slam into the lunar surface at a speed of approximately 1.55 miles per second.
The resultant explosion is expected not only to make a serious dent in the lunar surface. But also to throw up a plume of gas and debris 6 miles high, making it visible from earth.

Having blasted off from Cape Canaveral on June 18th, LCROSS is currently orbiting earth while its on-board computers work overtime endeavouring to precisely identify its intended target—a permanently shadowed crater near the moon’s south pole, where it is suspected ice may have formed.
According to NASA, the hope is that the debris cloud formed by the impact will contain water ice or vapour. If sufficient water ice or vapour is detected, NASA says, it could mean the space agency is one step closer to building a base on the moon.
That’s assuming the aliens acquiesce, of course.
NASA To Bomb The Moon: Aliens Or Not
Bases On The Far Side Of The Moon
Those less trusting of NASA suspect the real reason for the bombing is to destroy alien bases concealed on the far side of the moon.
Many believe the Apollo missions of the late 1960s and early 70s encountered alien craft on the moon, and that they were ultimately warned off by the aliens and their superior firepower.

This is the reason quoted by some researchers for NASA’s reluctance to return to the moon since 1973. And Russia’s otherwise inexplicable decision never to send a manned mission to the moon, period.
Whether NASA is these days more confident in its own improved firepower, of course, and that, therefore, this might be a muscle-flexing mission designed to warn the aliens of our imminent return to the moon regardless (if we ever went in the first place), remains to be seen.
Meanwhile the debate as to whether it is ethically sound for us to bomb the moon with impunity rages on. What say you? Are we immune from cosmic law? Do we have some inalienable birthright to bomb whatever celestial bodies we want, with impunity?
Is NASA really on a fact-finding mission, or is there something more sinister underlying the space agency’s plans to bomb the moon this autumn?
Love to get your views on this one…

All this talking of war and conquering, is this all we have to offer ourselves or future beings? Have we not learned a thing over time? It appears not. I can only hope that any ET’s encountered will be stronger, wiser, and of a different nature – one with individual mindsets for a life style that is without constant “warring”, nor full of distrust, fear, ignorance, secrecies, power, greed, and control of all others who are encountered. Why do we believe our only options are to “Win or Lose”. Conguer or be Conquered? In all the thousands of years of our existence the only thing that seems to have evolved in the masses are the clothes they wear.
