A Worldwide Menace

I first came upon the term ‘chemtrails’ in Nexus magazine. I can’t be sure of the year but it was a couple of years before I moved to Tenerife at the end of 2004 and I had seen examples of the persistent trails in the skies over Wales but wasn’t convinced it was a reality or a threat.

However, spending a lot of time on social networking and conspiracy sites and forums, as well as viewing a lot of videos on YouTube, I became convinced of the reality and the danger of chemtrails as a worldwide menace.

It became my belief that the elite or the Illuminati rulers of the world really were carrying out a massive operation to fill the skies with poisons. That this was part of a genocidal eugenics programme to cull the population of the world and to weaken the immune systems of those that were not killed.

I believed what I read and was told by fellow chemtrail-believers that dangerous toxins like the elements aluminium and barium were being sprayed overhead as well as other pathogens. I also was convinced there was a very real censorship operation whereby the media would not cover the subject at all and the authorities would not address any queries about the problem from concerned members of the public.

A Weather Modification Operation

Although, I had seen some trails over Wales I hadn’t seen any over Tenerife but this was to change when I started seeing them over the island and this coincided with an outbreak of flu here so I put two and two together and blamed the chemtrails.

We also had had freak weather and again I thought this was being caused by the trails as part of a weather modification operation.

Under my real name Steve Andrews, I have been a contributor to various newspapers on the island and sent in an article entitled Contrails or Chemtrails and Freak Weather to Tenerife News, which I was proud to see got published and was then picked up on posted as a link on Jeff Rense and David Icke’s sites.

I was feeling proud of myself for having got the taboo subject into the media and was enjoying the praise from fellow conspiracy theorists and chemtrail-believers.

I had by then started posting chemtrail-related videos and blogs at Myspace and elsewhere and was a member of a forum on Yahoo for people who were concerned with the threat of chemtrails.

To add to my personal experiences and fears, I had noticed halos around the sun here on Tenerife on several occasions when the sky was filled with artificial cirrus cloud that I could see was the result of persistent trails that had spread out and that had been left by aircraft.

Back To Wales

In July 2007, I went back to Wales for a week’s holiday and was shocked to see the skies of the Cardiff area covered in what I was then calling chemtrails. I had flown in via Dublin and had noticed trails over the skies of Ireland too.

Both Wales and Ireland had had very bad weather and again I blamed it on weather modification by the planes spraying chemtrails.

Everyone I spoke to seemed unconcerned though and said what I was seeing were just “vapour trails” or “what the planes make.”

Seeing how the skies in South Wales were now covered daily in trails I was surprised to find that the people I met and saw about in town did not appear to be ill. I didn’t see anyone suffering respiratory complaints or flu-like illnesses that I had been led to believe were symptoms of exposure to toxins from chemtrails.

Not only that, but I noticed that the wet weather had caused lichens to flourish on walls and tree trunks. Something didn’t add up because I know that these little plants cannot grow if the air is polluted and if they are doing well it is a sign the air is very clean!

Tony Duncan aka JazzRoc

When I got back to Tenerife my friend Tony Duncan, aka JazzRoc, had seen my chemtrail blogs at Myspace, and as a scientist and engineer who knew nothing about the worldwide belief in chemtrails, was shocked to find out that there was one.

He told me I was deluded and wrong about this and that he was going to “fight me” on the subject and he began posting comments on any and all sites he could find on YouTube stating that there was no threat from chemtrails because they did not exist and were harmless contrails made up of ice crystals.

Chemtrail enthusiasts objected to this and he was eventually banned from the site after having all sorts of things that I knew were definitely not true posted about him.

Tony did not work for the CIA or as a secret government employee and was not a “shill” but was actually a pensioner who lived with his wife in El Médano in the south of this island and had been working as a part-time community gardener.

I knew him as a guy who was very concerned about the environment and interested in permaculture. He had also produced a song of mine entitled Kingfisher that he recorded.

I introduced him to the David Icke and Outlaw News forums as public sites where he could argue his case but he got banned from them too.

I had by then had a complete change of understanding of the phenomenon.

Halos Around The Moon

After very heated arguments with JazzRoc he asked me one day if I knew what made the halos around the moon.

Now, I had known since I was a child that this was caused by ice crystals from water vapour but somehow I had not been able to see that what caused this effect at night would also do so by day around the sun.

I had been told by chemtrail-believers that the trails can be made up of tiny particles of aluminium and other substances but Tony said that such particles could not be expelled from a jet engine and that halos never form in air that is full of dust.

He asked me if I had ever seen a halo around the moon or sun when the skies are full of dust from the Sahara in the atmospheric phenomenon known as calimas that we get on this island. I had not and could see immediately that he was right – halos are not caused by solid particles or dust in the atmosphere.

So my whole belief in chemtrails came crashing down and I was left to see that I had blinded myself to the truth of the matter before and had not been willing to really look at what he was saying.

It was like a religious belief but the spell had been broken.

A Non-Believer

Now, as a non-believer in chemtrails the world had become a much safer place but his explanation also gave answers as to why people were not dropping dead from chemtrail exposure, explained why there were no whistle-blowers coming forward or photos doing the rounds of where the chemtrail planes come from, and why the elite are not worried about breathing the same “poisoned air.”

I thanked JazzRoc for having shown me where I was wrong and I announced in public that I no longer believed in chemtrails but now saw them as contrails. Remarkably I was then subjected to a lot of nonsensical accusations and remarks by people online, who said I had “been got at,” “drugged,” “hypnotised” and even that I was acting as if I had “had a gun pointed at my head.”

I have also been told to “wake up” and been bombarded with so-called chemtrail videos and “evidence,” most of which I have already seen and I can now see proves nothing apart from that there are a vast number of people who believe in the reality of a sinister chemtrail conspiracy, most of which seem unable to look at or consider an opposing viewpoint.

Many people also have not read what I have had to say on the subject and yet presume to ask me questions I have covered. I have had a taste of what JazzRoc was subjected to when he first became known as a “debunker,” and it can become very frustrating trying to state your case against someone who is blinded by a belief system!

Truth-seekers and conspiracy theorists say there is too much fear in the world and that this is deliberately orchestrated by the Illuminati and the media they control, and I would agree, but I say, surely belief in chemtrails as part of a human culling and poisoning operation adds to this climate of fear?

What does concern me too now is why so many authors and researchers in the fields of conspiracy research are all promoting chemtrails as a “truth.” Do they all really believe this or are they just going along with it because it is expected by the public?

Does it help sell more books and DVDs? Or is there really a more sinister conspiracy behind it to possibly divert people away from real problems and to keep people feeling powerless and in fear?
