Who really built the Sphinx, Stonehenge, Tiahuanaco, or the ancient temple of Gobekli Tepe? Did an ancient civilization exist 12,000 years ago, now lost to history? Were they destroyed by a global cataclysm we have come to call ‘the flood’...?

Ancient Civilizations: Did They Exist?

Who built the Sphinx which some researchers say was more likely to have been built around 10,500 BCE than 2,500 BCE, as mainstream historians claim?

Who built the Mexican and Egyptian Pyramids, with their striking similarities in structure, astronomical alignment and significance?

Who built Stonehenge and the ancient city of Tiahuanaco in Bolivia, believed by some to be far older than conventional archaeology maintains?

Gobekli_temple1 And what about Gobekli Tepe in southeastern Turkey, carbon-dated to around 11,000 BCE? Were hunter-gatherers really responsible for building this stunningly complex temple structure?

Or is it possible there once existed an ancient civilization which perhaps predates our own, a civilization now lost to history, but which left its fingerprints for us to discover in these remarkable megalithic structures?

Certainly there’s a wealth of compelling evidence in support of this theory, not least the remarkable Piri Reis and Oronteus Finaeus world maps, drawn in 1513 and 1532 respectively.

This surviving fragment of the original Piri Reis map, for example, depicts in remarkable detail features of the land mass of Antarctica as it exists beneath the mile-deep ice-skin covering the frozen continent.

The strange thing is this map was compiled from source maps dating back more than 2000 years, and was drawn up by Piri Reis 300 years before anyone knew that Antarctica even existed, much less what its land mass looked like beneath the thick layer of ice covering it.

So who compiled these early maps? Where did they get their information?

Did civilization really only begin 5000 years ago, as conventional history asserts?

Or were we predated by an ancient civilization now lost to history, consigned to some or other ‘legend’, like Atlantis, or Lemuria, or some other forgotten place and time?

I think maybe we were. If you agree, or disagree, the Forums are the place to state your case…
