Ball Lightning And UFOs
Sometimes mistaken for Ghost Lights or even UFOs , Ball Lightning is a more common phenomenon than previously thought, with an estimated 5% of the population having witnessed it at some time in their lives.
In short, ball lightning takes the form of small balls of orange light that seem to hang in the air and float around until they either explode or simply fizzle out.
Generally the size of a tennis ball or perhaps a soccer ball, although larger balls have sometimes been reported, ball lightning can be dangerous and on occasion can cause considerable damage.
In some instances ball lightning has even been known to destroy entire buildings.
So if you’re out there attempting to film ball lightning, don’t say you haven’t been warned!
