Bigfoot, or the Yeti, was described by Sherpa Tenzing as ‘half-man and half-beast’. Follow the links below to check out the remarkable footage of Bigfoot and the Yeti…
Bigfoot And The Yeti
Sightings of Bigfoot or the Yeti are extremely rare, even though this elusive creature is probably the world’s most famous cryptid (Wikipedia: a creature whose existence has been reported but no scientific proof has yet been found in support of its existence).
It is known as the ‘Yeti’ in Nepal and Tibet, and as ‘Bigfoot’ or ‘Sasquatch’ in the US and Canada.
But by whatever name, this cryptid has seldom been seen by humans, one of the most notable exceptions being this rare footage shot by two hikers in the Himalayan foothills of Nepal in 1996.
Another notable sighting was reported by Sherpa Tenzing almost half a century earlier, several years before he famously accompanied Sir Edmund Hillary to the summit of Mount Everest.
According to Tenzing, the Yeti was “playing in the snow” by a monastery, about 25 yards away, when he and a group of other Sherpas spotted it.
He described it as ‘half-man and half-beast’ with reddish-brown hair and a ‘hairless face’.
Tenzing’s sighting was later corroborated by British explorer Eric Shipton, who in 1951 took the now famous photograph (above) of Yeti footprints in the snow while on expedition in the Himalayas. Shipton reported at the time:
‘What really made my flesh creep was that … you could see clearly where the creature had dug its toes in.’
If anyone out there comes across Bigfoot be sure and film him and post your video here.
As always creative license will be frowned upon, unless it’s exceptionally good!
