Otherwise known as Majestic-12, Majic-12 and Majority-12, MJ-12 was allegedly a military and scientific intelligence group set up by President Harry S. Truman on 24th September, 1947, some 12 weeks after the Roswell incident and less than a week after the formation of the CIA.

The sole purpose of this group, which was populated by some very high-ranking civil, military and scientific personnel, was to monitor the UFO situation and gather as much information as possible under the US government’s newly instituted ‘containment and disinformation’ program set up by the Robertson Panel in January 1953.

In other words, the White House and its newly formed Central Intelligence Agency were keen to learn all they could about UFOs and the alleged extraterrestrial presence and conceal their findings by feeding the rest of us disinformation.

By all accounts this strategy has worked to optimum effect ever since, the Roswell ‘weather balloon’ story being a primary case in point.
