Continental drift and plate tectonics confirm that a ‘lost continent’ once existed in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Could this submerged land mass have been Mu…?

Mu /Lemuria: Lost Continent

Said to have both preceded and co-existed with Atlantis, Mu — or Lemuria, as it is sometime called — is believed by some to have been located somewhere in the South Pacific, between America and Australasia, although others believe it was located in the Indian Ocean, between what is now Madagascar and India.

Indeed, modern understanding of plate tectonics has uncovered evidence that lost continents did indeed once exist in the Pacific and Indian Oceans—notably the sunken continents of Zealandia in the Pacific, and the Kerguelen Plateau in the Indian Ocean.

But wherever the sunken land mass may once have existed, if indeed it existed at all, most agree that Mu was perhaps more an age than a location, more a civilization that populated the entire world at a given point in time than merely a continent.

What say you? Does the science of plate tectonics and continental drift support the theory of a lost continent in the Pacific or Indian Oceans?

Does archaeology support the possibility of a lost civilization in India or Madagascar? Did Mu exist?
