RAF Tornado GR4 ... chasing UFOs?
Posted by Jon King on Jan 28, 2009
Former Ministry of Defence employee Nick Pope told Fox News yesterday that RAF pilots had been ordered to shoot down UFOs over British airspace.
He said that the ‘shoot-down’ directive had been official policy since the 1980s, but added that he knew of cases dating back as far as the 1950s.
“There was a case in England in 1957 where a pilot attempted to bring down a UFO by firing rockets at it,” he revealed.
And further: “There was a case in Iran in 1976 where the UFO managed to deactivate the pilots air-to-air weapons system.”
Pope claims that MoD chiefs wanted to shoot down a UFO in order to “resolve the issue once and for all”, but that so far all attempts had been unsuccessful.
“It will happen one day. Our weapons are becoming more and more sophisticated.”
The decision to open fire on ‘unidentified aerial phenomena’, as UFOs are officially known, is the “pilot’s call”, Pope said. Incredibly, he went on to reveal that “we’ve had some cases in England where there have been virtual dogfights between UFOs and military jets.”
When questioned about this claim, Pope fired back by stating that during his time as the MoD’s official UFO investigator, he had seen reports where UFOs had been tracked on military radar and sighted by trained pilots, both civilian and military (see The Black Triangle).
In closing, Pope said the MoD is in process of declassifying documents which will show that close encounters between RAF pilots and UFOs have been happening for decades.
The documents should be in the public domain within a year, he said.
Wow! What do you think? Is Nick Pope spinning a yarn? Is his story for real?
Love to know your thoughts…
Any former RAF pilots or military personnel out there who might be able to throw some light on these claims, by the way, we’d love to hear from you…
